The family received friends on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 from 5-8 p.m. at the DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home, 51400 Main Road (NYS Route 25), Southold, New York 11971 where Funeral services were held at 7 p.m. by Reverend Garret Johnson.

Memorial donations, in her name, may be made to Turtle Rescue of the Hamptons, P.O. Box 5, Jamesport, New York 11947 or North Fork Animal Welfare League, P.O. Box 297, Southold, New York 11971.

Eileen Patricia (McTiernan) Michel of Southold Ny and Follansbee, WV passed away peacefully on August 28,2026 at the age of 71.

Born March 30, 1955, in Queens Ny was the daughter of late John Patrick and Marie McTiernan. In Addition to her parents she is proceeded in death by her three sisters; Kathleen Pellecchia, Maryann Mirasola, and Noreen Sangiamo. Eileen was the office Manager at Ron Morizzo Kitchens and Baths in Cutchogue NY.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved mother, grandmother, and devoted lifelong partner. She was a woman whose love, kindness, and presence touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to known her.

Above all she cherished her family and dog Joey. Being a mother and grandmother was her greatest joy her life. She gave her family unconditional love, countless memories and a lifetime of wisdom, laughter and support.

Affectionately known as “NY Grandma” she had a way of making everyone feel like her family. Her home was a place where you were always welcomed, always loved and -most importantly always fed. She loved to cook and spend the day in the kitchen. The kitchen was always filled with warmth of homemade meals, delicious aromas, laughter and lots of memories that will last a lifetime.

Eileen is survived by her life partner Ron Morizzo, son-Adam Michel, Daughter-Melissa Michel, Granddaughter-Emma (David), Brother Jackie (Sandy) McTiernan, nieces and nephews.
