Royston P. Rind Jr., longtime Mattituck resident, passed away at home on Saturday, March 28, 2026. He was 78 years old.

He was born on July 28, 1947 in Manhattan, New York City to Helen (née Tytler) and Royston P. Rind. After high school, he attended Ithaca College where he attained his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.

He enjoyed visiting his cabin in “Thousand Islands”, Ontario. His passions included race horses (especially the “Trotters”), wood working, fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Antique Boating Museum in Clayton, NY. He had multiple antique boats and was also the owner of a Model A. He was also a supporter of the USO and VFW.

In his professional career Royston worked as an accountant for Arthur Anderson in New York City, and then later in life as a self-employed woodworker.

Predeceased by his cousin Harriet Wilkinson; he is survived by his wife Karen P. (née Warren) Rind; cousin Jayme Wilkinson Somers; and second cousins Steven Wilkinson, Michael Wilkinson, Sean Wilkinson and Chris Wilkinson.

Entombment at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale, NY.
