Margaret Fitzpatrick
Southold
Margaret Fitzpatrick entered into eternal rest on January 27, 2026, and is now reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, Richard Fitzpatrick.
She is lovingly survived by her children: Richard (Judy) Fitzpatrick, Robert Fitzpatrick, Maureen Fitzpatrick, Patrice (William) Scherer, Joan (Stephen) Stapleton, Matthew (Maureen) Fitzpatrick, and Pegeen (Scott) Brown; her cherished 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Margaret is also survived by her brother, James (Anne Marie) Rowley; her sister, Sister Mary Joseph, LSP; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Margaret was a woman of deep and abiding faith. A devoted member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, she served her parish with love and humility as a Eucharistic Minister to the sick and as a founding member of the Like New Shop. Her faith guided every part of her life, and she held a special devotion to Saint Thérèse, whose message of simple love and trust in God she beautifully lived out each day.
Margaret found great joy in caring for her family and was especially known for lovingly spoiling her grandchildren. She had a kind and generous heart, always placing others before herself. She loved to travel, particularly to Catholic shrines, where her faith was strengthened and her spirit renewed.
Above all, Margaret will be remembered for her gentle presence, loving nature, and unwavering devotion to God and family. Her life was a true reflection of faith, service, and love.
The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 7th at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Ostrabrama R.C. Church in Cutchogue, officiated by Father Ryszard Ficek. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart R.C. Cemetery in Cutchogue.
DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Southold is assisting the family.
