Darlene Anne “Dubie” Zelinski Darlene Anne “Dubie” Zelinski, 72, of Cutchogue, New York, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2026, at the Kanas Center in Westhampton Beach, New York. Born on July 6, 1954, Dubie was the beloved daughter of the late Alexander and Frances (Kaloski) Zelinski. A lifelong resident of Cutchogue, Dubie’s roots ran deep in the community and in the family she loved so dearly. She grew up on her grandparents’ farm on Alvahs Lane, surrounded by her many cousins and the sights and sounds of farm life. Those early years helped foster her lifelong love of nature and the beauty of the world around her. Dubie had a wonderful creative spirit and a natural talent for making beautiful things. She shared that talent through her business, “Visions,” where she created custom wreaths and gifts. Creativity remained an important part of her life, and in later years she found great joy in quilting, creating beautiful and unique pieces with care and imagination. Her love of nature was another constant throughout her life. Dubie took great pleasure in tending her beautiful garden and nurturing the flowers and plants she so loved. She had an appreciation for the simple beauty found in nature and the comfort and joy it could bring. Above all, Dubie was a loving and caring person who cherished her family and friends. She had a special way of making people feel loved and remembered, and she leaves behind countless memories shared with those fortunate enough to know her. Her creativity, warmth, kindness, and love of life will remain a part of the people and places she touched. Dubie is survived by her brother, Daniel Zelinski and his wife, Patricia; niece, Elizabeth Alba and her husband, Paul; nephew, David Zelinski and his wife, Danielle; and many treasured friends and family members. Dubie will be deeply missed by all who loved her. Her memory will live on in the family she cherished, the friendships she nurtured, the gardens she lovingly tended, and the beautiful things she created with her hands and her heart. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Dubie’s memory to the North Fork Animal Welfare League or the Kanas Center for Hospice Care, organizations that reflect her compassionate heart and her love for animals and those in need. A funeral service celebrating Dubie’s life will be held on Friday, September 18, at 10:00 a.m. at Mattituck Presbyterian Church, 12605 Main Road, Mattituck, New York. Family and friends are warmly invited to join together afterward to share memories and celebrate the life of someone who brought so much love, creativity, and kindness to those around her.
