Gavyn Avery Drago of Mattituck, New York died suddenly on September 4, 2026, at the age of 17. The family received friends on Sunday, September 6, 2026, from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00pm at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Homes, 13805 Main Road (NY-25), Mattituck, New York 11952. A celebration of his life was held on Monday, September 7, 2026, at 10:00am at the North Fork Reform Synagogue, 27245 Main Road (NY-25), Cutchogue, New Y0rk 11935. Rabbi David Levy officiated. Interment followed at Cutchogue Cemetery, 30535 Main Road (NY-25), Cutchogue, New York 11935. The family will sit Shiva on Tuesday from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at their home in Mattituck. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to either the Epilepsy Foundation (www.epilepsy.com) or the Epilepsy Foundation of Metropolitan New York (www.efmny.org).
