Charles G. Salice of Cutchogue passed away at home on Friday, July 24, 2026. He was 93 years old. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 28th from 2-6 P.M. at the DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck, where Funeral Services will be held at 5:00 P.M., officiated by Father Dante Sabban from Our Lady of Ostrabrama R.C. Church in Cutchogue. Southold American Legion Post 803 Services will follow at 5:30 P.M. Interment will be private at Sacred Heart R.C. Cemetery in Cutchogue. In lieu of flowers, donations to Southold American Legion Post 803, Disabled American Veterans (DAV) or East End Hospice would be appreciated. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Obituary Charles G. Salice of Cutchogue, and formerly of Seaford, NY, passed away at home on Friday, July 24, 2026. He was 93 years old. Charles was born on March 7, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY to Sarah R. (née Panzica) and Gasper Salice. He was one of four children. He enlisted with the U.S. Army at the age of eighteen and served for three years during the Korean Conflict. He was a Corporal and paratrooper in the 187 Airborne Infantry Regiment. He was awarded a purple heart and 2 bronze stars and was honorably discharged in 1954. In 1956 he married the love of his life and wife of 69 years Rose R. (née Zambuto) Salice in Brooklyn, NY. Together they had four children and would eventually make their home in Cutchogue. In his professional career, he worked as a carpenter for Hewlett Screen & Sash. He was also a member of the Southold American Legion Griswold-Terry-Glover Post 803. Predeceased by his parents; his brother John Salice; and his brother-in-law John Vitkevich; Charles is survived by his wife Rose; children Kathleen Salice of Cutchogue, Thomas Salice (Susan) of Rye, NY, Charles Salice (Camille Passaro) of Southold and Gary Salice (Anne) of Cutchogue; grandchildren Sarah, Charles (Nicole), Regina (Devin), Daniel (Yu Anne), Joseph, Thomas (Lily), Bridget (Roger); great-grandchildren Chase, Miles and Trent; and siblings Joyce Vitkevich of Seaford, NY and Philip Salice (Carmen) of Port Jefferson, NY.
