Thomas Henry Boucher of Cutchogue passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2026. He was 72 years old. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 24th from 4-7 P.M. at the DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 25th at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church in Mattituck, officiated by Father Michael Bartholomew. The Rite of Committal will be private. Obituary Thomas Henry Boucher, longtime Cutchogue resident, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2026. He was 72 years old. Tom was born on December 27, 1953 in Brooklyn, NY to Ruth (née Hollenbach) and William Boucher. He was one of three children. He graduated from Islip High School. After high school, he attended Suffolk Community College where he attained his Associates Degree. On August 6, 1983, at St. Francis de Sales R.C. Church in Patchogue, NY, he married the love of his life, Anne (née Molloy) Boucher. Together they had four children and would eventually make their home in Cutchogue. In his professional career, he worked as an operating manager the Brookhaven National Lab Water Treatment Plant located in Upton, NY. Prior to living in Cutchogue, he lived in Islip, NY from 1965 to 1983 and in Patchogue, NY from 1983 to 1991. He was a member of IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers). Music was the heartbeat of Tom's life. A gifted guitarist, he spent decades sharing his talent with everyone around him. He met the love of his life, Anne, while playing in the band, Wedge, beginning a partnership that would last over 43 years. His passion for creating music continued with A.R.T.work, recording original songs, and in recent years he found great joy performing with The Elderly Brothers. What Tom valued most was using music to bring people together. Whether gathered with family or among friends, he was rarely far from his acoustic guitar, blessing countless occasions with songs that invited everyone to sing along. He also enjoyed teaching guitar to many students throughout Southold Town as well as through the East End Arts Council. Introducing others to the music he loved was one of his greatest joys. Though deeply missed, Tom's music lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Tom is survived by his wife Anne; children John Boucher (Kim Bevan) of Summit, NJ, Thomas L. Boucher (Michaela) of Redding, CA, Caitrian Myers (Jonathan) of Arlington, VA and Taryn Boucher (Marc Hartmann) of Nashville, TN; grandchildren Lena and Lettie Boucher, Isla and Brody Boucher, Aidan, Josie and Julien Myers, and Sloane and Ava Hartmann; and siblings Cliff Boucher (Susan) of Clarksville, MD and Bill Boucher (Ronnie) of West Islip, NY. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 24th from 4-7 P.M. at the DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck.
